The aim is to showcase high-quality investigations, deepen understanding of complex global issues, and help readers negotiate an increasingly distorted information landscape.

Editorial

Perspicacity was founded by Richard Nield, an investigative journalist, editor and research analyst who specialises in international human rights, corruption and disinformation.

Richard has worked in more than 20 countries in four continents - including conflict zones and countries suffering oppression and the denial of basic human rights.

He has been published and broadcast by global media organisations including the Financial Times, The Economist, BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, AFP, the Economist Intelligence Unit, Foreign Policy, the Atlantic Council, France 24 and Deutsche Welle.

He has worked as a senior investigator and editor for several international NGOs focusing on corruption, illicit finance and human rights. Richard’s work most often focuses on Africa and the Middle East.
